Klervie Mouho paints faceless figures — silent presences that look back without eyes. Her work explores memory: what fades, what endures. But sometimes, it’s the smallest detail — like an eye — that seems to carry the weight of it all. Inspired by 18th-century “lover’s eye” miniatures — tiny portraits worn as secret tokens of affection — she painted a single eye and pinned it to her wall. She felt watched in a comforting way, as if she were being held, somehow.
